Job Title: Worship Leader

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Provide leadership, training, and direction primarily through creating a dynamic worship experience.

Primary Functions & Duties

Worship Leader

A) In collaboration with the pastor and volunteer staff, plan and coordinate an overall worship experience for Sunday mornings as well as seasonal and special occasion worship services.

B) Provide instrumental and vocal leadership to the congregation during worship services.

C) Direct/lead Worship Team in weekly rehearsals and all worship services including: securing substitute musicians as needed and managing the worship budget.

D) Prepare and compile the media used in Sunday morning worship and other services (slides, order of worship, etc.).

E) Consider the spiritual needs of the Worship Team as the spiritual basis for the way they serve in leading worship.

F) Inspire, recruit, and train persons from inside and/or outside the congregation to participate on the Worship and A/V Teams.

G) Identify specific actions to expand, improve, and grow the worship experience.

Minimum Requirements

• A passion to serve Christ and others in and through ministry

• An understanding and willingness to develop relationships with those in and outside Gateway

• An attitude of humility, collaboration, and coachability

• Experience in leading worship vocally and instrumentally

• The ability to connect to and relate with a diverse group of individuals

• The ability to take initiative, be creative, and manage one’s time/schedule in a healthy way

• Availability of at least 1 evening during the week and Sunday mornings

COMPENSATION: Compensation for this part-time position will be negotiated with the Gateway Leadership Team with a range of $11k-$15k/year.
